In the middle of tomorrow, a great ribbed ghost has emerged from a distant yesterday.
On Tuesday morning, workers excavating the site of the underground vehicle security center for the future World Trade Center hit a row of sturdy, upright wood timbers, regularly spaced, sticking out of a briny gray muck flecked with oyster shells.
Obviously, these were more than just remnants of the wooden cribbing used in the late 18th and early 19th centuries to extend the shoreline of Manhattan Island ever farther into the Hudson River. (Lower Manhattan real estate was a precious commodity even then.)
“They were so perfectly contoured that they were clearly part of a ship,” said A. Michael Pappalardo, an archaeologist with the firm AKRF, which is working for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to document historical material uncovered during construction.
By Wednesday, the outlines made it plain: a 30-foot length of a wood-hulled vessel had been discovered about 20 to 30 feet below street level on the World Trade Center site, the first such large-scale archaeological find along the Manhattan waterfront since 1982, when an 18th-century cargo ship came to light at 175 Water Street.

Head of al-Qaeda in Iraq ‘killed in raid’ 19 Apr 2010 The US said that its forces had dealt a devastating blow to al-Qaeda after the terror network’s top two leaders in Iraq were killed in a night-time raid. Abu Ayyub al-Masri, the head of al-Qaeda in Iraq [reported dead in 2007], and Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, his close associate and the purported leader of the Islamic State of Iraq (ISI), were tracked to a safe house near Tikrit, Saddam Hussein’s hometown, on Sunday night. US forces fired two missiles at the house as Iraqi ground troops stormed it.
Except that… Al-Qaeda in Iraq leader Abu Ayyub al-Masri captured 08 May 2008 Iraqi forces claimed tonight to have arrested the head of Al-Qaeda in Iraq during an operation in the northern city of Mosul, one of the terrorist organisation’s last major hold-outs in the country. Abu Ayyub al-Masri, the nom de guerre of Abu Hamza al-Muhajir, was captured in a joint US-Iraqi operation, according to Iraqi military sources quoted by the Arabic news channel al-Arabiya. The failure to rebuild the World Trade Center site in Manhattan has received endless attention. But public anger about this failed reconstruction should not been seen so negatively. After all, mental reconstruction has also still not been successful and is surely more needed, with too many Americans still accepting the official government story about 9/11. This, despite a huge amount of compelling evidence that elements of the US government played some role, despite a very large, active 9/11 truth movement, and despite an impressive number of highly credible people demanding a new investigation as documented at patriotsquestion911.com.
In the recent Angus Reid Public Opinion survey of a representative national sample of American adults, 62 per cent of respondents disagree with the view that the “Sept. 11 incident was a big fabrication as a pretext for the campaign against terrorism and a prelude for staging an invasion against Afghanistan.” Far more Republicans disagree at 80 percent, compared to 66 percent of Independents and 55 percent of Democrats.
Consistent with this is that two-thirds of Americans (67 percent) agree with the government commission that investigated the events of Sept. 11, 2001, which concluded that an attack was carried out by 19 hijackers who were members of the al-Qaeda terrorist organization, led by Osama bin Laden. Though 12 per cent of respondents reject the commission’s findings, one-in-five Americans (21 percent) are undecided. In particular, 35 percent of Independents and 34 percent of Democrats do not accept the official version, compared to just 20 percent of Republicans.
These figures translate to about 100 million Americans that question or find fault with the official 9/11 story, far from a trivial number and far too many to dismiss as conspiracy nuts and part of the lunatic fringe. This is the important message that merits public appreciation. FULL STORY

A former Bush team member during his first administration is now voicing
serious doubts about the collapse of the World Trade Center on 9-11. Former
chief economist for the Department of Labor during President George W.
Bush’s first term Morgan Reynolds comments that the official story about the
collapse of the WTC is “bogus” and that it is more likely that a controlled
demolition destroyed the Twin Towers and adjacent Building No. 7. Reynolds,
who also served as director of the Criminal Justice Center at the National
Center for Policy Analysis in Dallas and is now professor emeritus at Texas
A&M University said, “If demolition destroyed three steel skyscrapers at the
World Trade Center on 9/11, then the case for an ‘inside job’ and a
government attack on America would be compelling.” Reynolds commented from
his Texas A&M office, “It is hard to exaggerate the importance of a
scientific debate over the cause of the collapse of the twin towers and
building 7. If the official wisdom on the collapses is wrong, as I believe
it is, then policy based on such erroneous engineering analysis is not
likely to be correct either. The government’s collapse theory is highly

Ventura turns investigator for ‘Conspiracy Theory’

MINNEAPOLIS – Jesse Ventura is back for another stab at TV stardom, this time hosting a program that digs into conspiracy theories, including alternate views of what was behind the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, and the purpose of a sprawling research center in remote Alaska.
The former Minnesota governor, professional wrestler and Navy SEAL stars in “Conspiracy Theory With Jesse Ventura,” which premieres Wednesday night on truTV. The cable network, part of Turner Broadcasting System Inc., has ordered seven episodes of the hourlong weekly series.
Aside from his wrestling career, Ventura has not had a good track record on TV. His Saturday evening talk show, “Jesse Ventura’s America,” lasted only two months on MSNBC in late 2003 (his debut drew a small audience of 194,000 people).
Ventura declined to talk to The Associated Press, but he said on CNN’s “Larry King Live” Monday night that his new show doesn’t examine conspiracy theories involving the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy or the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., but instead confines itself to the past decade.
“And believe me, the problem, Larry, wasn’t finding conspiracies — it was choosing which ones we wanted to cover,” Ventura told Larry King.
Marc Juris, executive vide president and general manager of truTV, said Ventura is passionate about the show and brings “knowledge from the inside” of government.
“He’s not doing this as an act or a gimmick. It’s true to his heart. He’s really looking for the answers,” Juris told the AP.
The premiere episode deals with the High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program, or HAARP, a 35-acre compound of 180 antennas near Gakona, Alaska, that is used to study the Earth’s ionosphere. Ventura and those he interviews question whether the government is using the site to manipulate the weather or to bombard people with mind-controlling radio waves.
“This thing can knock planes out of the air. It can control the weather. And it’s a very dangerous, dangerous weapon,” Ventura said Tuesday on “The Morning Blend” talk show on WTMJ-TV of Milwaukee. (The HAARP Web site says the research station does not affect the weather and was not designed for military purposes.)
On the debut show, Ventura talks to a team of “Conspiracy Theory” investigators about HAARP and makes an unplanned visit to the research station, only to be turned back at the gates. Full Story
